Description: A survey course in elementary physics for students majoring in biology, environmental science, the health professions, or the social sciences. Stress is placed on basic principles. Topics include vectors, kinematics, Newton's laws, circular motion, work, energy, impulse, momentum, rotational motion, elasticity, simple harmonic motion, fluids, thermodynamics, kinetic theory, waves, and sound. Three hours lecture, one hour recitation and two hours laboratory per week.
